Character Development and Poetry as a Method of Moral Education

This presentation of the author’s book of the same title is aimed at practitioners in education, within arts education, teacher education, and character education. Using poetry provides an opportunity to expand young people’s horizon, their perception of the world, and enable them to build their character strengths. It is also devoted to poetry therapy, incorporating poetry into the treatment to help a person better understand feelings. It provides a structural overview of poetic inquiry, character education, and poetry therapy, and how these approaches can be interwoven to pursue a grounded and generalisable study and/or practice of character and poetry education.
